Keeping cattle on a small scale

Annette Marshall and Siobhan Macdonald discuss all you need to think about for small scale cattle keeping – set up, breeds, health, feeding, breeding, and reducing your carbon footprint.  Lots of opportunity to ask questions and the speakers would love to hear your experiences.

Siobhan is an agricultural adviser with SAC with over 20 years of experience working with mostly with crofters.  She has a croft, running 5 Shorthorn x cattle and 12 highland mule sheep and grassland that needs improvement.

Annette grew up on a livestock farm and still lives on one with her husband. She worked on a beef and sheep farm for several years before joining SAC, where she has been for over 10 years, first in Perth and now as manager of Forfar.
