Sheep Showcase

Sheep are a very popular choice for smallholders, for good reason. With ready markets for lamb meat, fleece, spun yarn and breeding stock they offer a potential income as well as being very enjoyable to keep.

We have one talk in the seminar programme dedicated to sheep – Agnes Gough, on Adding value to your wool at 2:00pm in Ring 1.

For 2018 the Festival is showcasing some of the most popular smallholder sheep breeds, as well as some you may not thought of keeping, or perhaps even heard of! For every breed the breeders will be on-hand to offer their advice and share their experiences – we are extremely grateful to them for bringing their stock to the Festival for the showcase.
